13:50 – Rajindri

RAJINDRI wasn’t seen to best effect when last seen finishing third at Wolverhampton in November, doing well to be beaten only three lengths having been poorly placed in relation to the first two. She is better judged on the form she showed when filling the runner-up spot on her debut at Kempton a few weeks earlier, running to a fairly useful level with the promise of more to come. Her potential remains firmly intact – especially now stepping up to a mile – and she rates a solid selection to get off the mark at the third attempt.

14:25 – Bombay Bazaar

BOMBAY BAZAAR shaped very well when finishing third on his debut at Thirsk last month, passing the post only four lengths behind the winner (who had the benefit of previous experience) despite being given an easy time of things by his rider. That form sets a good standard in this line-up and Bombay Bazaar seems sure to improve with the run under his belt. A few interesting newcomers feature among the opposition, but Richard Fahey’s colt is fancied to put his experience to good use to open his account at the second time of asking.

15:00 – Montelusa

MONTELUSA has been below his best in two starts this year, but today’s conditions should play more to his strengths. His stamina appeared to be stretched over six furlongs on heavy ground at Nottingham last time, so the return to the minimum trip here on better ground looks a positive move. This also represents a signifciant drop in grade as he makes his first start in a seller and the pick of his two-year-old form identifies him as very much the one to beat on these terms.

15:35 – King Of Tonga

KING OF TONGA took a step back in the right direction when finishing fourth at Wetherby a couple of weeks ago, faring best of those held up. He was beaten three and a half lengths at the line and arguably deserved extra credit having been hampered in the final furlong as well. Crucially, King of Tonga is now 1 lb lower in the weights than when gaining his most recent success at Chester in August, so another bold bid seems assured if building on the promise of last time.

    16:10 – Broctune Red

BROCTUNE RED was an emphatic winner at Newcastle in April, drawing right away in the final two furlongs to land the spoils by six lengths. He then ran another solid race when turned out quickly under a 4 lb penalty at the same course last time, sticking to his task well to be beaten just half a length. He clearly arrives here right at the top of his game and a BHA mark of 64 remains workable back at the scene of his sole career victory on turf in September 2021.

    16:45 – Serengeti Sunset

SERENGETI SUNSET looked in need of the run after six months off when finishing fifth in a maiden at Yarmouth last time, racing freely at the head of affairs before weakening late on. He now makes the switch to handicaps and it will be no surprise if he proves much better than an opening BHA mark of 73 in time. A useful-looking colt, he has plenty to recommend him on pedigree, too, and this rare visitor to Beverley from the John and Thady Gosden yard is very much one to be interested in.

    17:20 – Book Of Tales

BOOK OF TALES has proved a bit disappointing in two starts in handicaps, though he wasn’t beaten far when finishing third on his latest outing at Newcastle, rallying in the final 50 yards to pass the post just a length and three-quarters behind the winner. It’s still very early days and he’s shown enough to suggest he should be winning races at a lowly level sooner rather than later. This is the weakest contest he’s run in yet and it could be a good opportunity for him to get off the mark.
