Pumpkin Pie sets an easily surmountable standard. As regards the newcomers, preference is for ZACHARY who looks potentially above average, being a grandson of Soviet Song. Cuban Slide is feared most, ahead of his stablemate Making Dreams. The market signals should help to complete the picture.
14:30 – Azaim
A maiden handicap in all but name. Some of the runners are open to improvement, most notably AZAIM who looks interesting back down in distance. Mr Jetman (second choice) and Rockonmecca are other unexposed types to consider. B Associates has had more chances than any of his rivals but he’s a leading contender on current form.
15:00 – Riversway
Several runners tie in with each other on C&D form last October and ten days ago. RIVERSWAY, on balance, may well fare best of that bunch with a resumption of her progress looking plausible. Sheikh Maz Mahood, who doesn’t look fully exposed, is narrow second choice ahead of Havagomecca and Primo’s Comet.
15:30 – Bicep
The vote goes to BICEP (nap), who is 2-2 over C&D and remains open to further progress at this trip. Class-dropper Gobi Sunset is second choice, ahead of in-form St Andrew’s Castle.

16:00 – Forgetmenotblue
Provided she takes well to the change of headgear, FORGETMENOTBLUE could well open her account in a winnable race. Ask Peter, another in-form maiden, is second choice ahead of Paramaribo who may improve for this sharper 2m.
16:30 – Our Dickie
A rather tricky race with some of the runners appealing on certain counts but having something to prove in other respects. The suggestion is OUR DICKIE, who is 0-5 for his new yard but whose sole attempt at this distance resulted in his Irish win. Far From A Ruby (attractively handicapped; second choice) and Fanzone are likely players provided they stay the trip, while Cosa Sara is another for the shortlist.
17:05 – Hostelry
Having ended a long losing spell ten days ago How Bizarre (second choice) isn’t necessarily an obvious type to follow up, but he’s still respected off a workable revised mark. Bulls Aye is attempting to halt his own drought but he has clear possibilities on the back of an encouraging effort. HOSTELRY has a modest strike-rate but this return to 1m1f, combined with a handy mark, may enable her to record a second win. As with the first division, it’s not entirely straightforward.
17:40 – Holly Blackmore
Teresa Grace can probably improve some more but HOLLY BLACKMORE shaped well when they met at Thirsk and the selection’s subsequent defeat can be forgiven. Newcastle winner Cavalier Approach shouldn’t be far away.
