Horse Racing tips: Ruby Walsh’s fine Friday fancies for ITV Racing

Ruby is raring to go for Friday's tellybox action at Chester and Ascot.

Ruby Walsh’s ITV Racing Tips:

13:30 Chester – Red Mirage (each way)
13:50 Ascot – Racingbreaks Ryder (NAP)
14:05 Chester – Fantastic Fox
14:40 Chester – Point Lonsdale
15:15 Chester – Tritonic (each way)

13:30 Chester – Red Mirage (each way)

A 7f handicap were last year’s winner Red Mirage lines up again. He could be an each-way price too as this will be his seasonal debut. He may repeat the feat here for new trainer John Quinn.

13:50 Ascot – Racingbreaks Ryder (NAP)

In These Shoes won well at Beverley but Racingbreaks Ryder has improved no end this season and beat Royal Rhyme into third at Haydock before Royal Rhyme franked that form by hosing up next time at Newmarket when beating Rathgar by five lengths. Racingbreaks Ryder looks to be going places on that evidence.

    14:05 Chester – Fantastic Fox

A 1m 2f handicap where Savvy Victory could head the market under Ryan Moore. Fantastic Fox is definitely one I’d give a chance to. Could say the same for Cap Francais who was second in this contest last year if you take the horses for courses angle which works well at Chester.

    14:40 Chester – Point Lonsdale

A couple of Irish challengers in the Group 2 Huxley Stakes over 10 furlongs where Noel Meade’s Layfayette is joined by Ballydoyle’s Point Lonsdale. I wouldn’t stick my neck out for Point Lonsdale but he does look the most likely winner of the race as he’s already beaten Layfayette (who gave him 5lbs) convincingly at the Curragh by eight and a half lengths with Visualisation splitting the pair. They meet off levels weights now and Visualisation has franked the form by winning a Group 2 at the Curragh after that.

15:15 Chester – Tritonic (each way)

Ryan Moore is an eye-catching booking for Dermot Weld and Falcon Eight who won this race two years ago. However, Falcon Eight is an eight-year-old now and that will make it tougher as he may not be improving as much as some of the others. Tritonic has a shout as has the Irish challenger Almuhit who has decent hurdles form and could be a good each-way shout.
