13:30 – Chester – Percys Lad

Wobwobwob has the best draw in stall one but he isn’t that consistent. I’ve landed on a big outsider in Percys Lad. He’s drawn in stall 13, which is theoretically the worse draw, but the wide stall doesn’t do too badly if there’s a bit of cut in the ground. He’s a frontrunner and he could get out and stay there. He can go well, he’s well handicapped and he’s overpriced.

13:50 – Ascot – Racingbreaks Ryder

Racingbreaks Ryder is my pick simply because I know he can handle the ground, which will probably he heavy in places at Ascot. He’s won his last three and he can go well again. Oj Lifestyle is one that might be overpriced too.

    14:05 – Chester – Pride Of America

I’m very sweet on Pride Of America and he should be very hard to beat. He comes here after a sub-par run at Saint-Cloud in March but his form with a bit of dig in the ground reads well. He’s a proper frontrunner and he’s got a good draw in stall four. He’s a course and distance winner so he’s worth sticking with.

      14:40 – Chester – Point Lonsdale

Point Lonsdale is the most likely winner on paper even though we only saw him one time last season when winning the Alleged Stakes at the Curragh. I won’t be backing him at the price but he should win.

        15:15 – Chester – Call My Bluff

Emiyn and Call My Bluff finished first and second at Chester in September and the form can be turned around. Dominic Ffrench Davis’ horses have been going well and Call My Bluff has solid Chester form. His second to Emiyn was a really good run and he can go one better.

        15:45 – Chester – Medieval Gold

King Of The Plains and Medieval Gold are very well bred and I like the latter of the two. Banderas sets the standard but it’s not an incredibly high bar so if I had to pick a runner, I’d go with Medieval Gold for William Haggas with Richard Kingscote on board.
