13:30 – Chester – Lihou

ITV Thursday gets under way with a handicap over 5f. LIHOU is in blistering form, has a great draw and a terrific racing weight so must have every chance for Dave Evans and Hayley Turner. The ground will be no problem and my hope did really well to win at Epsom last time. Lihou has not been off a mark like 86 for a long time but has been higher in his prime so the rating is not impossible.

13:50 – Southwell – Juryman

ITV also show one race from Southwell in this handicap over 7f. JURYMAN enjoyed the soft ground at Doncaster when winning last time for Willie Jarvis but has some fair form on all-weather surfaces. He’s up 4lb here which seems fair and he’s at the right end of the handicap to have every chance again.

    14:05 – Chester – Theoryofeverything

Another handicap this time over nearly 1m. THEORYOFEVERYTHING has a great chance back in handicap company for John & Thady Gosden and James Doyle. The Greenham third could never quite get on term in the Newbury Group 3 but kept on well enough and can drop in here and power home late and fast on ground that will be no problem.

    14:40 – Chester – Local Dynasty

Listed company now for the Dee Stakes over an extended 1m2f. LOCAL DYNASTY has to give weight away but can use his experience here for Charlie Appleby and William Buick. The three-time winner was good when last seen at Pontefract in October winning a Listed contest. The extra distance will be perfect and the ground is no issue.

    15:15 – Chester – Hamish

Up in class for the Group 3 Ormonde over nearly 1m6f. HAMISH is a right tool with give in the ground and this distance is within his compass too so he should go well for William Haggas and Tom Marquand who is back after that nasty cut he got at Newmarket which forced him to miss the Guineas. Rated 117, Hamish was last in action when second to Max Vega in the St Simon at Newbury in October and he can turn that form around with ease.

    15:45 – Chester – Dream Harder (each-way)

A handicap over an extended 1m2f. DREAM HARDER hasn’t got much form on very soft ground but if it’s reasonable he must have an each-way chance for Ian Williams and William Buick. My hope stays this trip strongly, has a decent draw and comes into this on the back of a very fair third at Lingfield. Can be slowly away. A few quid each-way.

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
