Hamilton

14:35 – Hamilton – Northcliff – Sporting Times

Tajalla could still be anything but we haven’t seen him since his very promising 2yo debut 13 months ago and it’s hard to know what to expect from him here. Silent Words, the other once-raced winner in the line-up, also looks a good prospect but an interesting alternative to both is NORTHCLIFF, who is proven on slow ground and shaped very much as though this stiffer 5f will suit when running very respectably in a Class 3 handicap last month.

15:40 – Newmarket – Mammas Girl – Daily Record

Very promising filly who is unbeaten in two starts, both over 7f at this track (good/good to soft), latest in the Nell Gwyn when looking smart with the way she swept past Fairy Cross inside the final half-furlong and won going away; patently well suited by Newmarket, should have no problem with this longer distance and brings a highly attractive profile to this Classic assignment; MAMMAS GIRL is a major contender.

16:35 – Leopardstown – Alma Libre – The Irish Sun

ALMA LIBRE placed in four of her seven races last year; seems likely to pick up race at some stage; trainer has her team in fine shape, good each-way price here.

17:25 – Newmarket – Mindset – Sheffield Star

MINDSET narrowly won a Beverley novice (7f.4f, good) last September on second start and good third of ten here (7f, good) the following month; withdrawn when the ground was soft on intended reappearance recently; good chance he can stay 1m2f and he too is open to improvement on handicap debut.
