Newmarket 14:25
Benacre – 1.5 points each-way
Benacre is one I expect to take another step forward here after a good seasonal debut when fourth in a Listed event at Newcastle. He’s a big beast of a horse who should be suited to this type of galloping track, got a bit lazy last time so the booking of James Doyle should help keep him honest. Drops back to 7f and could get an easy lead of things in front in an open-looking race, but rates as a big danger.

Star Of Orion – 1.5 points each-way
Star Of Orion is a dual course winner which is always a good stat for any horse running at Newmarket. He contested some big field handicaps last season that just didn’t suit, he was then dropped back into some smaller fields and returned to the form that we are used to seeing.
Done most of his good work on good to firm, so conditions here should suit and has run well fresh before.
Mussleburgh 15:50
Smart Lass – 1.5 points each-way
Smart Lass a five-time course winner took a real step back in the right direction when last seen at Thirsk. The return to this track should provide a real positive and looks on a very dangerous handicap mark. Undoubtedly done all her best work here and with conditions to suit today, it’s difficult to see her missing the frame if she builds on the fourth-placed finish last time out.
Goodwood 16:20
Lunarscape – 1.5 points each-way
Lunarscape won at this course last August and was a good second when last seen on seasonal debut at Windsor. She should come on for that effort fitness wise and looked good for the step up in trip last time out with further progress likely. Both trainer Eve Johnson Houghton and jockey Charles Bishop are in great form and I’m sure the filly won’t be far away.
