Horse Racing tips: Timeform’s best bets at Nottingham on Tuesday

14:10 – Snafiya

The market will be useful here with four of the five runners making their debut, but SNAFIYA makes a fair bit of appeal on paper, by a first-season sire in Blue Point who has made a good start, and also from the family of smart two-year-old Gutaifan. George Boughey can ready one first time up and the booking of William Buick is another plus. Treasure Storm was an expensive purchase as a yearling and is entitled to have come for her recent debut.

14:40 – Maso Bastie

MASO BASTIE attracted support and shaped with plenty of promise on his debut at Kempton in November last year and he improved as expected for that experience when opening his account at Lingfield the following month. He still displayed signs of greenness on that occasion, leaving the impression he has much more to offer, and he looks a good prospect now stepping up in trip. Artisand, who wasn’t seen to best effect when fifth at Lingfield on his return, looks a danger, while City Cyclone can also be involved, too.

15:10 – Mexicali Rose

A wide-open fillies’ handicap where MEXICALI ROSE just about makes the most appeal. She showed plenty of ability on her debut over seven furlongs at Newmarket towards the end of last season but failed to progress as expected on her next start on the all-weather at Lingfield. However, she ran well on her return from four months off at Leicester 18 days ago, travelling well and only caught late in the day by another promising filly, and she remains with potential for better now making her handicap debut from a fair-looking mark. Creme Chantilly is another who could have more to offer now switching to handicap company and heads the dangers along with Flame of Kodiac.

15:40 – Kingmania

KINGMANIA didn’t progress as expected for Chris Wall last season, but she proved at least as good as ever when making a winning start for this yard at Southwell last month, andlooks a horse to keep on the right side now. She went in a first-time hood and overcame a positional and pace bias, finding plenty in the closing stages once switched to the stand rail. A subsequent 3 lb rise looks more than fair and she is a confident selection to follow up back on turf. Canoodled goes well on this sort of ground and is feared most.

16:10 – Crystal Caprice

Sir Michael Stoute saddled the winner of this last year and CRYSTAL CAPRICE could be another for the yard. You can draw a line through her effort on the all-weather in October where she shaped as if amiss, though prior to that she looked most progressive and hopes are high that she will kick on again this season now moving up to a trip for which she is bred to relish. Golden Lyra rates the main danger, while Sunset Shiraz, who looks the pick of the Irish raiders, is third choice ahead of Life of Dreams.

16:40 – Mutaany

MUTAANY is from a good Shadwell family and he progressed well last season, bumping into some above-average types before opening his account in a minor event at Brighton on his final start. He set a high standard in that race and didn’t need to improve to get his head in front, but he pulled well clear of the remainder with the runner-up, and he appeals as the type who can progress further now handicapping this season. An opening mark of 83 doesn’t look excessive and this looks a good opening on his return to action. Open Market went close at Yarmouth and is respected off the same mark, while recent Pontefract winner Wen Moon is also considered.

17:10 – Silks Graphite

SILKS GRAPHITE took his form up a notch when runner-up at Yarmouth last month and with a fully-fledged rider back on board, Darryll Holland’s charge is fancied to open his account racing from the same mark. Ghost Lights is put forward as the main threat on turf debut for the in-form Charles Hills, with Irish-raider Starnight rounding off the shortlist.
