13:55 – Iolaos Du Mou
The ones with experience don’t set the bar too high in this novices’ hurdle so a chance is taken on IOLAOS DU MOU to make a winning debut. He overcame inexperience to make a winning start in a bumper at Newbury in November and, though he was disappointing in a course bumper last time, he was very weak in the betting on is return from four months off. He is entitled to have come on for that and he is bred to take well to jumping. Moonshine Spirit is open to progress on the back of a sound opening effort over timber and is second choice.
14:30 – Telhimlisten
TELHIMLISTEN has been in prolific form over the last month or so, completing a four-timer over hurdles at Huntingdon in the middle of March and he would have made a winning start over fences had his rider not become unbalanced after jumping the last. He quickly gained compensation at Plumpton last week and, given how he is thriving on racing, he is hard to oppose turned out quickly from the same mark on debut for a new yard. Dreaming Blue for the red-hot Anthony Honeyball stable is next best, ahead of Hector Jaguen.
15:05 – Ajp Kingdom
AJP KINGDOM made a winning start in a bumper at Bangor last year and he has made a promising start over hurdles, finishing runner-up to a useful rival over course and distance in November and filling the same position at Ludlow last time. That was his first start for five months, so he is entitled to come on a bit for that run, and he sets the standard on form in which doesn’t look the strongest race of its type for the track. Astronomic View has been absent again since his hurdle debut third back in November but still looks the obvious danger.
15:40 – Latitude
LATITUDE and Duc de Beauchene could be the pair to concentrate on. The latter coasted home at Wincanton recently and, still feasibly treated despite going up 11 lb, he is not passed over at all lightly. However, the up-and-coming Latitude probably has more to offer on the back of his clear-cut Ludlow success and he is marginally preferred. Several make each-way appeal, with Good Boy Bobby just about the pick of them ahead of Danny Kirwan and Hiway One O Three.

16:15 – Queens Rock
QUEENS ROCK finished runner-up in her only start in Irish points and she showed plenty of ability on her Rules debut when runner-up in a bumper at Ffos Las around this time last year. She made a winning start over hurdles after seven months off at Southwell in November and she made a mockery of her opening mark at Doncaster in February, scoring with the minimum of fuss on her first start since undergoing a breathing operation. The handicapper has hit her with an 11 lb rise but that may not be enough to prevent her following up. Cherry Cola and Sami Bear arrive in good form and head the list of dangers.
16:50 – Red Rookie
RED ROOKIE comes here relatively fresh for this time of the year and, having proved strong at the finish when resuming winning ways at Warwick in March, he could well be up to defying a 4 lb higher mark on that evidence. Jay Jay Reilly and Before Midnight are just a couple of others to consider in what rates a competitive race of its type.
17:25 – Kings Threshold
KING’S THRESHOLD showed improved form when opening his account on handicap debut at Exeter last month, overcoming some early mistakes and as expected, relishing the extra emphasis on stamina. He now steps up to three miles for the first time, which should bring about further improvement, and he is a horse to remain positive about. Island Run and Young Butler can also make their presence felt.
