Setting a clear standard on the form of her cracking debut run over 5f, NEO SMART (nap) should be able to go one better today, though does need to settle better. Mary The Priest has nearly 5l to make up on her. Ocean Baroque and Do It With Style are most interesting of the newcomers.
13:50 – Noche Magica
On form, NOCHE MAGICA has a bit to spare over Bucanero Fuerte on a line through Sturlasson and is the selection. However, there are some interesting subplots to this race, with Amo Racing’s retained rider on the newcomer Valiant Force in different ownership plus the intrigue of the well-bred Aidan O’Brien debutants His Majesty and Unquestionable. The market may clarify the situation.
14:25 – Paddington
This is a good opportunity for PADDINGTON to make a winning transition to a higher grade. He impressed in winning the Madrid Handicap and can take the measure of Bold Discovery who has run creditably in Group 3 races won by Ballydoyle colts.
15:00 – Snowcapped
Though SNOWCAPPED was the stable’s second-string when winning over 1m at Gowran last time, she has Shane Foley on board today and can cope with the drop in trip. Alabama Pearl looks the Murtagh first-string, so can run well, while Queen Maedbh was a classy Dundalk maiden winner but is unproven on this ground.

15:35 – Star Girls Aalmal
The William Haggas-trained Queen Aminatu arguably has the best overall credentials but it remains to be seen whether she can match her strong AW form. Last year’s Irish 1,000 Guineas fourth STAR GIRLS AALMAL appeals as a realistic alternative following her seasonal debut that gives her an edge over Agartha. The talented Just Beautiful did not find her best form in two starts for this stable last year.
16:10 – Insinuendo
With a winning run under her belt INSINUENDO is put forward as a value-alternative to the Irish Champion Stakes winner Luxembourg who had to work hard to beat the mare in last year’s Royal Whip. Above The Curve could also make her presence felt since she beat the Willie McCreery-trained mare over C&D in last season’s Blandford Stakes.
16:45 – Tall Story
Though still a maiden after 22 starts, TALL STORY ran a fine race over 6f here last time and could get off the mark now up to this more suitable trip off 2lb higher. Verhoyen needs to improve on his recent starts but loves this place and is becoming well-handicapped. Cnodian and Secret Magician are others to consider.
17:20 – Mogwli
Having his fourth run of the season, the consistent MOGWLI is drawn in the centre and is suggested as a solid each-way proposition in a very open race. An 8lb rise may not prevent recent C&D winner Midnight Fire from going close. Run Forrest Run appeals on the strength of the first of this season’s two runs. Other possibilities are the maiden Dagoda and Pretty Boy Floyd who likes this track.
