Each and every day of the racing year we bring you a bumper NAPs table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
There could be some improvers lurking amongst the handicap debutants but ANTI BRIDGIE ran a solid race last time at Newbury and there’s reason to believe she can step up on that form. Ninetofive is one of those newcomers to the handicap scene and he’s second choice followed by Petite Rhapsody and Rickety Gate.
Course bumper winner King Alexander seemed to run well in a three-runner novice last time and is open to significant improvement on today’s handicap debut but the suggestion is BASHFUL BOY, who was running well before coming to grief in a competitive race at Haydock this month and is still on a good mark over hurdles. Maclaine is next on the list.
The father-and-son Dempsey combination cracked this puzzle last year and may have the solution now with BROOMFIELD BIJOU who trounced the odds-on favourite in a recent mares’ maiden. Gordons Aura and Figaroc are potentially the key horses for the Elliott and Mullins camps respectively and are very closely matched on Fairyhouse form. Tony Martin’s Golf Marin could feature after a confidence-boosting maiden win. Ifiwerearichman appeals with Rob James claiming a very valuable 7lb.
Contrast and Dandy’s Angel are firmly in calculations on the back of good reappearance runs, while the return of cheekpieces could be a plus for Kalahari Prince, and C&D winners Where’s Jeff and Bit Of A Quirke make their comebacks with their stables going well. However, this could go to the very lightly raced OLIVER’S ARMY who has shown potential for this sort of trip. Dandy’s Angel is second choice.
