The main danger is Zoom Star who finished third in a big-field handicap at Thirsk two weeks ago. Hannah’s Return has some questions to answer at this new trip on her turf debut but she won at Kempton last time and has claims if she can transfer her progress to this sphere.

18:00 – Alfa Whiteburd

This can go to ALFA WHITEBURD who showed clear promise with his debut fourth when making striking late headway on testing ground in the Brocklesby. Karl Burke’s debutante Got To Love A Grey needs a close look in the market, while another interesting newcomer is Elysian Wolf.

18:30 – Umming N Ahing

The unexposed Gemini Star landed the odds at Thirsk on her recent return and she’s an interesting contender on her handicap debut. Just A Spark is 3-3 over this trip and she’s respected on her switch to turf, while Destiny’s Spirit won three of her last four starts last season and has claims if she can pick up where she left off. However, the vote goes to UMMING N’ AHING, who toook a major step forward with his win in a C&D maiden 17 days ago and is open to more progress back in a handicap.

19:00 – Diffident Spirit

This can go to DIFFIDENT SPIRIT (nap), who made it 3-7 on turf with his emphatic win at Leicester last week and remains well treated on his best form. Recent C&D winner Nine Elms is feared most, although Eponina has nine turf wins on her CV and she looks interesting off a dangerous mark back in this sphere.

19:30 – Nader King

Godolphin’s Hidden Story cost 550,000gns as a yearling and he’s a striking contender, although there are three other well-bred newcomers in the line-up who need a close look in market. Open Choice made a promising start over 1m at Newcastle in Janauary, but it might be worth sticking with NADER KING, who sets a fair standard on his runner-up effort here in October and is open to more progress upped to this trip on his return.

20:00 – Saratoga Spirit

Star Sight is of interest on her 2yo form but there are others who have made more encouraging starts to this seasons, including SARATOGA SPIRIT who had a troubled run on her handicap debut at Lingfield and remains one with some potential in ordinary handicaps. Obama Army is preferred of the remainder, although Kamanika should appreciate the step up in trip and Greek Giant could also fare much better now handicapping.
