Each and every day of the racing year we bring you a bumper NAPs table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
CHALDEAN was one of the best 2yos of last season having shown great progress to win the Acomb, Champagne Stakes and Dewhurst. Scored over C&D before that Group hat-trick. 2-2 under Frankie Dettori. Acts on soft ground. Clear top rated in this field and should solidify his 2,000 Guineas credentials.
TELMESOMETHINGGIRL won the Grade 2 Mares Novice Hurdle at Cheltenham Festival two seasons ago. Has not hit the same heights in three chases, including when beating the only other finisher in 2m4f Naas mares’ race in January. Needs to up her game but she comes here fresh, handles all types of ground and would be a big player if belatedly translating the pick of her hurdles form to fences.
NOTHINGTOCHANCE is an improving mare who won Fakenham maiden (2m, soft) in pretty good style last month, her third start over hurdles. Open to further progress in handicaps.
MANOTHEPEOPLE is a lightly raced 8yo, with best days almost certainly still in front of him. Raced very prominently to win novice handicaps at Chepstow (3m2f/3m) on first two starts over fences. It’s just possible that soft ground was not ideal when second of three at Newbury four weeks ago but he needs to stay on a lot more strongly than he did that day.
