There was plenty to like about CUE’S BEAU’s recent debut second, despite being seemingly totally unfancied at 100-1, and she gets the vote with improvement on the cards. Flame Spirit (second choice) isn’t too far behind her on form, while Monte Linas and Rogue Soldier are newcomers to monitor closely in the betting.
Wyvern has been running well on AW this year and is high on the list, while Spirit Of Nguru and Gobi Sunset are both much better than they showed on their latest start. LETMELIVEMYLIFE (nap) has been revived by the move to Sean Curran though and he can complete a four-timer with Billy Loughnane taking over for the first time.
Although KENTUCKY KINGDOM has not had a particularly distinguished winter he only just lost out back here last week and his strike-rate of three from nine C&D starts is not to be sniffed at. The Bay Warrior has the same strike-rate but he wasn’t at his best two weeks ago and it could go either way with regular cheekpieces left off. Perhaps Hashtagmetoo may prove the main danger as there should be a fair pace which will allow her stamina to come into play.
The prolific Simply Sondheim isn’t opposed lightly but the fact he needed most of the 1m3f to get on top at Kempton recently suggests this drop back in trip might not be ideal so he’s taken on with CIVIL LAW, who has Billy Loughnane taking a handy 5lb off.
Saaheq (second choice) has turned in two solid efforts since joining Adrian Nicholls and he looks booked for another big run, while Red Walls, Araifjan and Jumira Bridge also have something to recommend them. STREET LIFE has run well on his reappearance in each of the last two seasons though and he could be the answer on a rare foray into Class 6 company.
My Roxanne (second choice) and Dame Laura Knight can do better over this trip but they will have their work cut out to get the better of CONCORDE. George Boughey’s 3yo looked miles ahead of his mark when winning at Redcar on Monday, a win that came as no surprise given his SP of 4-6, and he can complete a quick double.
Kiss My Face (second choice) has been in rude health this spring and he isn’t taken on lightly despite his rise in class. Blow Your Horn, Cedar Cage and Heath Rise can all go well but WORLD WITHOUT LOVE might be worth chancing on her reappearance. The pick of her 3yo form offers hope this mark is in range.
