Horse Racing Tips: Mick Fitzgerald’s Friday fancies at Aintree

Fitzy's landed the first three winners on Thursday and is back for more today.

Mick Fitzgerald’s Horse Racing Tips:

13:45 – Gerri Colombe
14:20 – Camprond
14:55 – Altobelli (each-way)
15:30 – Hitman
16:05 – Il Ridoto
16:40 – Blenkinsop (each-way)

13:45 – Gerri Colombe

GERRI COLOMBE was really unlucky at Cheltenham. This could turn into a bit of a slog and that will suit him down to the ground.

14:20 – Camprond

CAMPROND was among the unluckiest losers at Cheltenham and he should get compensation at a track he has run well at in the past. Martello Sky is a very good each-way alternative.

14:55 – Altobelli

I have been super impressed with ALTOBELLI, although jumping has been his Achilles’ heel and any rain that comes will help. Luccia was ultimately disappointing at Cheltenham, but she is a very smart filly, plus she receives a 7lbs sex allowance in this. But I am happy to take a punt on the Harry Fry trained contender.

15:30 – Hitman

HITMAN has run very well at this track in the past, including second in this race last year. Harry Cobden has chosen to ride Pic D’Orhy which is a worry but as a jockey you make a choice and sometimes we all get it wrong.

16:05 – Il Ridoto

This lad has a bit of class, but the obvious question mark is having not run over these fences previously. IL RIDOTO is a good called jumper, though, and I don’t have any concerns on that front. I think his class will see him through. Phoenix way could be interesting with cheek pieces on too.

16:40 – Blenkinsop (each-way)

I like this horse and any rain that falls will help this very strong stayer. BLENKINSOP’s experience and having not been to Cheltenham will help. Maximillian is another at a price which will run well. He beat the Albert Bartlett winner at Doncaster.
