KAYF HERNANDO was seemingly boosted by first-time cheekpieces when winning easily by 11l at Taunton (2m7f, good) in November, his second chase, and backed up that performance with very respectable third over same C&D just after Christmas. Contender if in similar form again after 103-day break.
16:05 Southwell – Shelikesthelights (RP Ratings)
SHELIKESTHELIGHTS delivered on earlier promise when making all in Doncaster maiden (2m, good; first-time tongue-tie) last month, her fourth start over hurdles. Won that race with more authority than the diminished margin suggests and should have more to offer in handicaps.
18:00 Kempton – Annie Law (Sunday Express)
ANNIE LAW had a great start to handicap career in C&D contest 67 days ago, proving suited by the new trip (first attempt beyond 6f). That form has worked out well, with the next three home scoring since. Looks the type to improve further. Strongly respected.
19:30 Kempton – Spinaround (On The Nose)
SPINAROUND has two wins for the Gosdens, the latest at Chelmsford (1m, Polytrack) last summer. Now 2lb lower than for that success but he was out of sorts in his final two runs last season and was down the field again on his stable debut at Newcastle last month.
