Plumpton Tips Today

14.23 – Cape Vidal
14.58 – Only Money (NAP)
15.33 – Ez Tiger
16.08 – Captain Tom Cat
16.43 – Dear Ralphy
17.18 – Delgany Monarch
17.53 – Highway One O Five

14.23 – Cape Vidal

This is a modest maiden and a chance is taken that CAPE VIDAL can recapture his initial bumper form now sent over hurdles. Copshill Lad has a similar profile in that he’s not progressed from a promising start, but he’s been found a weak race in which to steady the ship. Jet Of Dreams may yet do better.

14.58 – Only Money (NAP)

Chris Gordon’s ONLY MONEY (nap) returns from a break under what are probably his optimum conditions and, prior to his final start, he was having a very solid season. Iconic Muddle’s latest effort can be upgraded and he’s second choice ahead of Noahthirtytwored.

15.33 – Ez Tiger

All of these come with risks. EZ TIGER remains a maiden but he does move well in his races and perhaps 2m4f stretched him last time. He’s never been lower in the weights. Big Jimbo returns to hurdling after competitive runs on the AW and he’s the danger. Hunting Brook has hinted at winning potential and may improve for a tongue-tie.

16.08 – Captain Tom Cat

This looks a bit easier for last season’s smart novice War Lord but a chance is taken on CAPTAIN TOM CAT, who is capable of rediscovering his best form now back on good ground and with his stable going well. The danger might be Lord Baddesley, especially should he be granted any freedom up front. Black Gerry looks another key player on last week’s Ascot form but reproducing it might be a challenge.

16.43 – Dear Ralphy

One For The Wall (second choice) and Flemen’s Tipple both ran well in defeat last time and should be in the shake-up, but a chance is taken on DEAR RALPHY. While his best form has come in bumpers, this longer trip could make a difference to him over hurdles and this is also his handicap debut.

17.18 – Delgany Monarch

River Tyne keeps finishing second and it’s doing her handicap mark no favours, so the frustration may continue. James Davies prefers stablemate My Bad Lucy but one who might beat them both is DELGANY MONARCH, who ran well last time out on ground that was softer than ideal. Who Is That has his own way of doing things but his results speak for themselves and, if staying this longer trip, he won’t be far away.

17.53 – Highway One O Five

It was a traditionally good bumper in which the well-related HIGHWAY ONE O FIVE finished third at Kempton. That form sets the standard and he should improve on his second start. Carrigmoorna Rowan seems well regarded and didn’t run at all badly at Exeter despite failing favourite backers. Ikalimix can also have a say.
