Master Grey would have to enter the argument back in a 0-60 were they to go a solid pace, but that’s far from certain so preference is for INCHBAE who still doesn’t have many miles on the clock (0-8) and is bred to relish this longer trip. Jenny Ren, who just got the better of the selection here last time, is another for the shortlist.

Berwick Law could have further progress in her over this trip and she is feared but TORRE DEL ORO looks a prime candidate for middle-distance handicaps this season and he can confirm the undoubted promise of his latest Kempton fourth and defy top weight. Autolycus has little in the way of solid form but there are still grounds for expecting better today.
18:30 – Secret Contact
The race Margaret Beaufort won here last time was a bit messy but she is going the right way, while the fourth-home Think Champagne may fare better granted a more solid pace. Duveen could also figure if building on her latest effort here now she’s upped again in trip, but SECRET CONTACT (nap) can prove too good for them all. She has run well in both her handicaps but has been shaping as though this stiffer test will suit her even better and drops in grade.
19:00 – Eligible
The absence of any obvious pace makes this a race to tread carefully with. That said, this is a drop in class for ELIGIBLE and he may still have the ability to come out on top. Okeanos still has some potential and is second choice, while a market move for Ibiza Rocks would be worth heeding.

19:30 – Canadiansmokeshow
Deep In My Heart, Expert Witness and Labiqa can all be expected to step forward from their debut efforts, while Centrefold, Fahari (second choice) and Storymaker have also shown sufficient promise to come right into the reckoning. CANADIANSMOKESHOW just about sets the standard though and she returns with her trainer going well.
20:00 – Fristel
Several of these like to get on with it and a good pace looks assured. Rebel Redemption’s connections have suffered with the draw again and he may prove vulnerable despite a very handy mark. Apache Star can go well, while Catesby (second choice) also comes right into the reckoning. This may be the day that everything falls into place for FRISTEL, though, and he has more than enough ability to defy this mark if finding himself in a race run to suit.
20:30 – Hooflepuff
C&D winner Inexplicable would have to make the shortlist if the return to this venue does the trick, but eight-time course winner HOOFLEPUFF suggested his turn is nearing again when runner-up over C&D 12 days ago. He can go one better from the same mark.
