Horse Racing tips: Ruby Walsh’s six to see on ITV this Saturday

Ruby is all over the televised fare at Haydock and Musselburgh

ITV Racing Betting Tips:

1:30 Haydock – Galice Macalo (E/W)

Over  the jumps at Haydock on Saturday, this looks very open handicap hurdle. Galice Macalo of Jane Wiliams with James Best riding last run at Stratford wasn’t great but prior to thatat Doncaster behiond Epatante he had run well. I think he’ll run to a respectable level on Saturday as an each-way option.

2:25 Musselburgh – The Gatekeeper

The Gatekeeper won on his first start in more than 18 months off the track at Newcastle in early March. Andrea Atzeni rode him that day before he went in the Spring Mile at Doncaster where he looked liek he had a shout getting to the furlog pole but didn’t quite get home. You can’t blame fitness for that after getting a run in March, but dropping back down to 7f along iwith the draw in stall 6 gives him a chance. He missed all of his three-year-old year and his two runs have been rock solid, he might be getting 2lb for his run in the Spring Mile, but dropping in distance will suit him

2:40 Haydock – Enqarde

I’m going for Enqarde here. He was second in this race last year behind Musical slave, but that was off a 10lb higher mark. He’s had four runs since but he’s also had a wind operation since he ran behind All About Joe in December, had one run since at Carlisle behind Tile Tapper. He hasn’t set the world alight but he’s dropped another 3lb since then and he has shown he like Haydock in the past. I know he pulled up here behind Bristol De Mai in February 22 but his run last year was a solid one and I think off a lighter mark he’ll do for me.

3pm Musselburgh – Zarzyni

Zarzyni won this race last year when he beat Just Another Bottle. Ben Curtis rode him then, when he was rated 99 and came from stall 1. I don’t think he has bad draw this year either in stall 6 so I’ll go with him to bounce out fresh again and repeat the trick.

3:15 Haydock – The Changing Man

I’ve to go with The Changing Man in this one. I just thought he was in the wrong place all the way around in the Pertemps at Cheltenham last time out. The winner, Good time Jonny, came from dead last while The Changing Man was on the front end and  I thought he ran really well to finish as close as he did in fourth.

3:35 Musselburgh – Pleasant Man

I’m drawn to Paul Nicholls’ entry, Pleasant Man, in the Queen’s Cup. Now, his jump form is pretty average for a horse that was rated 93 for Roger Charlton to only be rated 107 over  hurdles looks like disimprovement to me – it’s not improvement anyway.  That being said, he is by  Galileo and Paul Nicholls would probably find it easier to bring him to Puncheston rather than Musselburgh such is the distance from Ditcheat, but he is sending him up.

Kevin Stott rides and at the price I’ll take a chance on him as he should be fit as a fit.
