Military Tycoon for Hugo Palmer made a reasonable debut at Newcastle when finishing 4th and the winner of that race looked very useful so it’s a decent standard set. Looks a horse who’s going to need further in the future but the nature of this race with the soft conditions should set up a proper test of stamina. Harry Davies’ booking boosts a massive chance as the young jockey had a fantastic season last year and looks a real star in the making. This race does look much weaker than his previous assignment and switching to turf could spark more improvement.
15:15 Nottingham – Goodfella
1.5 points each way
Goodfella is another who’s going under the radar a bit here having run 3 times last year and his last two starts where very promising and races which have worked out very nicely now. Connections have come out and said he’s fit and ready to go for reappearance and he’s a horse they’ve always thought wanted some cut in the ground. His ratings from last year will have him right there today if he’s ready to go and has trained on. Is well worth taking a chance on today.
16:25 Nottingham – Entrancement
3 points win
Entrancement was a nice winner here at Nottingham last time out and won that race with what looked like plenty in hand so the rise in the weights shouldn’t pose much of an issue. A horse who should be well suited to the softer underfoot conditions as he priced last time out and this 3 year old is progressing nicely since increased in trip. Another step forward is expected today and connections might have found a nice opportunity to rattle off a double here.
