CONGRUENT looked like a horse who ran well at Newcastle last time out without actually being asked to go and win the race after a 160 day break. She was only beaten by two lengths that day in a class three race and with it looking like a tune up race we can expect another step forward now. Not a winner in the field here but she’s unexposed and has some experience with likely improvement she’s the one to aim at.
15:15 – Thirsk – Ten Bob Note
1.5 points each-way
A very poor looking handicap here sees TEN BOB NOTE drop in class and step up in trip which looks a positive move by connections as she’s related to horses who’ve been very good over this sort of trip. Useful 3lb claim from the jockey and has recently been gelded so should hopefully settle him down a bit here, be no surprise to see a completely different horse to what we’ve seen previously.
15:45 – Thirsk – Jackmesiter Rudi
1.5 points each-way
JACKMEISTER RUDI ran a credible race at Wolverhampton last week although did himself no favours by running such a wide course. Back on turf today and has soft ground form when winning at Catterick. Looks very well handicapped here back on his last winning mark and has won off a mark of 62 so is 5lbs well in on that form. Kevin Stott booked for the ride is noted and expected to go well.
