Tipman Tips use a points system to track profit and loss. To calculate your point value, simply divide your monthly budget into 100 points, it can be done with any budget and any value, for example:
* £50 Monthly Budget – 50p Point Value *£100 Monthly Budget – £1 Point Value * £200 Monthly Budget – £2 Point Value
So, in practice:
12:50 – Royal Ascot Red Rum 5/1 – 1.5 points each-way (3pts total)
If you had a budget of £200 you would place £3 each-way on the example selection above (£6 total)
Lightly raced 7 year old Miss Lamb has been very consistent in her handful of starts to date. Two time winner in her 4 bumper starts and she won last time out which was the second run after a long break. That was over today’s course and distance and on heavy ground which looks to be right up her street. Handicap debut today on what looks a very lenient mark and, with more progress to come, she rates as the one to beat in this small field.
Without the poor effort up in a class 2 last time out I think Tom Lacey’s 7 year old Operation Mana would be going off favourite here. I have him a fair few lbs clear of these at the ratings and now dropped back down into this level where he has two wins from four starts. Acts on the ground and is still very lightly raced to expect more improvement. If that latest effort was just a blip then he’s a bit danger here. Trainer and jockey both have good records at the track and he’s expected to go well today.
Saint Segal has been super progressive since switching to fences and just missed the cut for the Grand Annual at Cheltenham so is clearly a talented horse who connections think plenty of. He has some decent form in the book including the second to Portiecello over hurdles. He’s 1/1 over todays course and distance and looks very well suited to conditions today with a 60% strike rate. A competitive little race, but this 5 year old could very well be improving past these rivals.
Tennesse Dream for the inform Charlie Hills yard looks a very useful 3 year old who’s been progressing nicely of late. He has three wins from his nine career starts which includes two wins here at Wolverhampton. Decent enough draw here without being too wide and drops back into class 6 company after a 3rd place up in grade last time out. Represents some nice value against some horses who haven’t shown a whole amount lately and rates as one of the inform horses in the race with plenty of scope for improvement.
