Gaelic Park will find this much easier than his latest assignment and will be a tough nut to crack if able to replicate his best winter form but Mark Walford’s new recruit CARRAREA showed some useful form when trained in Ireland and is taken to make a winning stable debut.
14:25 – Boys Of Wexford
Henry Oliver’s BOYS OF WEXFORD has made a good start to his chasing career this season and this uncompetitive race could provide a good opportunity for him to double his tally over fences. Jack Doyen seems to have got his act together on his last couple of appearances and, with cheekpieces now added, may provide the main threat.
15:00 – Blade Runner
Tom Cannon had some serious work when BLADE RUNNER registered his three chase wins (last March, April and November) but there is no doubting his mount’s stamina and he’s also well handicapped on his best chase form, never having contested a handicap in this sphere. Last week’s C&D winner Glance From Clover and this season’s dual 3m2f winner Braganza Bay add plenty of interest, but the chief danger could emerge from the handicap newcomer Stellar Stream.
15:35 – Saint Segal
Grandeur D’Ame could go very well in his hat-trick bid but he’s second choice behind SAINT SEGAL (nap) who, like Red Rookie and Rouge Vif, failed to get into the Grand Annual two weeks ago. Saint Segal may well have been prominent in the betting had he started that Cheltenham Festival race, following his strong-finishing second at Doncaster, and this promising 5yo can improve to go one better today.

16:10 – Krypton Gold
Confidence in him will wane if the ground turns soft but KRYPTON GOLD wasn’t seen to best effect when third in a tactical race at Fontwell three weeks ago and can take this prize if able to replicate his autumn form. Lipa K remains unexposed and will be feared if again strong in the betting.
16:45 – Zee Man
Firak looked in good nick when winning a recent point and is respected but his record over regulation fences for Dan Skelton was not convincing and preference is for ZEE MAN. Fred Hutsby’s 9yo has a rather mixed record this season but he gave a very good account of himself when third at Southwell this month. Gaboriot needs help from the first-time blinkers today but may also feature.
17:15 – Coastal Rock
The most appealing option on paper is COASTAL ROCK, who is from a fairly good French Flat family and represents a stable with a very good bumper strike-rate. Dan Skelton’s mare Elle Est Beau is second choice, ahead of Solar System.
17:45 – Touch Of Thunder
Harry Fry’s very good bumper strike-rate is a strong selling point for Geezer Rockstar but perhaps it might be worth chancing TOUCH OF THUNDER, who has an interesting mix of Flat and jumps winner in his pedigree and ought to be well suited by today’s test. Tout Sur Moi is next on the list.
