TELHIMLISTEN has thrived over hurdles of late, winning his last four starts in that sphere, and having plenty in hand at Huntingdon last week. He was lightly raced in points, and now finds himself in a match on his chase debut up against a rival who is yet to convince over fences, so it is hard not to see him making a winning start in this sphere with a clear round.
14:15 – Forcing Bull
FORCING BULL opened his account in points at the sixth attempt and, though he was well beaten in a bumper on his Rules debut, he proved a different proposition fitted with a first-time tongue tie when making a winning start over hurdles over this course and distance last week. That was a weak event, but he has been well placed again, and given the way he travelled last time, he is more than capable of defying a penalty in this field. Mr Hailstone, who showed more last time, is taken to chase him home.
14:50 – Hashtag Boum
This may end up being a straight tussle between Irish-point winners HASHTAG BOUM and Hold Up la Colmine on their respective handicap debuts. The former has been shaping as though she is ready for this step up in trip, keeping on for this on the run-in at Newcastle last time. An opening mark of 104 looks fair enough and she should have even more to offer. Hold Up la Colmine has had more chances and has been tried at the trip, but still seems sure to launch another bold bid.
15:25 – The Questioner
THE QUESTIONER was progressive over hurdles, winning a handicap at Ascot on his final start in that sphere, and he justified good support to make a winning start over fences at Doncaster in January. He typically responded well to pressure on that occasion and he improved further in defeat when third over a longer trip at Bangor last time. The slight drop back in trip will be no problem for him and he arrives with a better profile than his rivals, so is fancied to quickly resume winning ways. Wake Up Early, who finished runner-up at Wincanton last time, appeals as the one to give the selection most to do.

16:00 – Hilnamix
HILNAMIX was a winner in points, and left his previous efforts over hurdles well behind when opening his account on handicap debut at Plumpton last month, travelling better than had been the case in a first-time visor and upped to three miles. He was pulling further clear of his rivals at the line, suggesting he will relish the extra three furlongs he faces today, and he is a strong fancy to defy a 6 lb rise in the weights. Thatbeatsbanagher arrives in good nick, and can boast a course and distance success, so he is feared most.
16:35 – Trac
TRAC is enjoying a very productive season over fences, winning three of his five starts so far, and he produced his best effort in this sphere so far when scoring by five lengths at this course last month. He made all of the running on that occasion, pressing on down the back straight and drawing clear after two out. He was in control when producing an untidy jump at the last and a subsequent 7 lb rise in the weights may well underestimate him. Ex S’elance, who is turned out under a 7 lb penalty following his win on chase debut last week and can pose the biggest threat.
17:10 – Rainbow Jet
RAINBOW JET was fairly useful at her best on the Flat and, while she has been well beaten in three starts over hurdles so far, she is best not judged too harshly on her latest effort at Southwell. She was never put into the race that day and she remains with potential now handicapping for the first time in this sphere. Lovin Jukebox is another who may do better now handicapping from a lowly rating.
