Doctor Ken is a bit short but for good reason. Olly Murphy has a 47% strike rate at Taunton when teaming up with Aidan Coleman and this seven-year-old has been progressing nicely with some very good runs and form that has been franked since. He will handle the ground and should be able to take another step forward in a race that looks to have plenty of exposed horses in.

Southwell 15:35

1.5 points each-way

The consistent Leading Theatre for Fergal O’Brien will have solid claims. He’s finished out of the top three once in his last six starts and has some decent form in the book from races that have worked out well since. He’s up 3lbs on the latest effort but he’s still young enough to expect some more improvement and the trainer has a 21% strike rate at Southwell. He’s easily good enough to place at least and the favourite is very vulnerable at the prices.

1.5 points each-way

Percy Warner looked a promising type when winning both starts over hurdles for Gordon Elliot. He’s been off for a while before switching yards and then returned with a decent second place effort in January. He’s likely to come on for that effort and he should relish the testing conditions. He has posted some decent figures in all his races to date and represents some nice value.
