Ryan McCue – 13:30 Cheltenham – Blood Destiny

BLOOD DESTINY was ruthless in two starts over hurdles and that form has been franked with Jazzy Matty winning the Boodles on Tuesday. Likely to bounce out in front here, it will take a good performance from something to get past him.

Daniel Collins – 14:50 Cheltenham – Embassy Gardens

Hard to know what EMBASSY GARDENS achieved last time out, but he couldn’t have done it any easier and he looks all over an Albert Bartlett type. The recent rain won’t have hurt his chances and he is sure to relish the test he faces tomorrow.

Niall Carney – 15:30 Cheltenham – Ahoy Senor (each-way)

Trainer Lucinda Russell has already a winner at the festival with the impressive Corach Rambler and is in a fine vein of form in recent days. The horse gave a career best when winning the Cotswold Chase here last time out and will improve for the run. With questions marks over the fancied favourite’s stamina and the form of some of his rivals, AHOY SENOR looks sure to hit the frame especially with extra places on offer.

Sean O’ Sullivan – 16:10 Cheltenham – Vaucelet

Looks a better horse than stablemate Winged Leader who went oh so bloody close to landing this last year. This looks like a similar standard renewal and it’s telling that David Christie sends only VAUCELET given he has two more talented hunter chasers that would likely go close in this. That’s a vote of confidence in itself and I’ve full faith in Barry O’Neill who gave Winged Leader such a good ride last year to get it right here.

Frank Hickey – 17:30 Cheltenham – Iroko

I wondered why Inothewayurthinkin wasn’t entered in the Martin Pipe and I’m pretty sure it is because JP McManus had something else laid out for the race. Step forward IROKO, who was campaigned at Grade 1 & 2 level last season in juvenile hurdles and wasn’t disgraced in either runs there. He has bolted up in two starts in handicaps this season, both at Wetherby, while his second win was particularly impressive as he clocked a really good time also.

He made decent handicappers look pedestrian and I don’t think a 10lb rise will stop him. His jockey Aidan Kelly had his first ride at Cheltenham on Thursday on Salvador Ziggy and he gave it a cracking ride to finish second. Granted luck in running, I think Iroko will take a bit of beating.
