Returned to action 17 days ago, with an excellent effort over this trip at Kempton. Despite getting pushed a little wide when coming down the short straight, naturally we expect improvement on his second try this season, but he has the added bonus of today’s inside starting position and it’s his second run of a wind operation.
13:30 Wolverhampton – Dubai Station
He wasn’t cheap at the horses-in-training sale, €70,000 for his new connections. Is on his first try here over the minimum. It was a fair effort considering he was a little slowly away. Going up a furlong today is going to suit him down to the ground and he can prove a tidy purchase by his new connections.

14:05 Wolverhampton – Dark Moon Rising [Each-Way]
Has dropped 9lb from his peak rating and we’ve only seen him on two occasions on a synthetic surface. His trainer is operating at a 23% strike rate, and he clearly is going to fly under the radar at double digit odds. He’s also had the cruelest cut of all the gelding operation to focus his mind.
14:40 Wolverhampton – Angel Bleu
He won five races back in 2021, including the vintage at Goodwood and the pre-Jean-Luc Lagardere. He was limited to three racecourse appearances last season, but they were up in very good company. It’s only match fitness that will catch him out on his return, but he has 5lb in hand to underperform against his rivals and a return to the long sprint distance looks tailor-made.
15:15 Wolverhampton – Golden Passport
Looked pretty good winning over this course and distance a couple of runs ago. Did incredibly well carrying the penalty up at Newcastle against some unexposed rivals over the mile. That trip seem to catch him out, and so connections run return back down to the long sprint, and that can see him return to the winners enclosure and take his impressive record to a 50% strike.
18:30 Chelmsford – Lord of the Lodge
Returning back down to his optimum distance can see him return to the winners enclosure. He can gain a sixth lifetime win on a synthetic surface and it looks a golden opportunity for his rider to gain some momentum for the season, as he enters the tricky stage of his young career going towards the end of his 3lb allowance.
