Horse Racing tips: A 9/1 play leads the way in Monday’s late-night All-Weather action

The Racing Post tipster likes Starjik in the 19:30.

Wolverhampton tips tonight

17:30 – Precision Storm
18:00 – Maitre De Perles
18:30 – Rabaah
19:00 – The Thames Boatman
19:30 – Starjik
20:00 – Destinado
20:30 – Johnny Boom

17:30 – Precision Storm

Several have possibilities but the vote goes to triple course winner PRECISION STORM, who has been knocking on the door over C&D in his last two runs and may well able to get back on the scoresheet on this drop back in grade. Super Den has a record 13211 since returned to AW in November and he’s feared most in his hat-trick attempt. The Menstone Gem could make a bold bid from a good draw on his return from a break, while others to consider are Dream Harder and Visibility.

18:00 – Maitre De Perles

Sexy Rexy chased home a big improver in a Kempton handicap last time and she’s respected but slight preference is for Roger Varian’s unexposed gelding MAITRE DE PERLES. He’s been well held in novice events this winter but this handicap newcomer has plenty of stamina in his striking pedigree and could look a different proposition on this big step up in trip. H Key Lails and Pretty Young Thing also enter the reckoning, while another to keep an eye on is Richard Hughes’s handicap debutant Cinnodin.

18:30 – Rabaah

Saracen Head was unfortunate not to get off the mark at Newcastle but in RABAAH he meets a young sprinter who has considerable potential. Clive Cox’s My Turn Now and Richard Hannon’s Hawajes are interesting beginners but they will need to be well above average to trouble the selection.

19:00 – The Thames Boatman

Despite the lack of a recent run it could be THE THAMES BOATMAN who proves ahead of his mark back on the AW as he looked promising when winning a 6f novice here that worked out well and has has the speed for another go at 5f. My Delilah and Paddy’s Day are others to consider but the main danger can come from Wreck It Ryley.

Wolverhampton Races

19:30 – Starjik

Glorious Charmer (second choice) looked to have more in hand than the neck margin indicates when beating Proclivity here two weeks ago and he looks a key player in his hat-trick bid. Behind him on that occasion was STARJIK, who attracted support but blew his chance when rearing as the stalls opened. He’s dropped to a good mark and that market interest indicated a revival was imminent. A big run from Bang On The Bell wouldn’t be a huge surprise either.

20:00 – Destinado

Miss Elsa might get an uncontested lead here but her stamina for this trip still isn’t conclusively proven and she may be vulnerable. Two Two Time has run well in stronger races at Dundalk this winter and should go well on her stable debut but this may rest between the two Tony Carroll-trained runners. Global Style should appreciate stepping back up in trip but DESTINADO bumped into one well ahead of his mark last month and this could be the day he sheds his maiden tag.

20:30 – Johnny Boom

Most of these have something to prove on one count or another but JOHNNY BOOM (nap) has won here in three of his last six starts and was a close second at Southwell ten days ago. This versatile 5yo is as good as ever and he’s a major player again back at this track. Dual C&D winner Lexington Knight looks the main danger, although the unexposed handicap newcomer Boy About Town needs watching in the market on his reappearance.
