It’s hard to get away from ZENTA who looked like a nice prospect when winning a mares’ Listed event at Auteuil on her jumps debut and connections won this last year with a smart sort. Paradise Lost’s experience over obstacles should help him beat a few home, although Harley Street, Hypotenus and Zefania were all smart performers on the level.

14:10 – Purse Price

Fine Margin sets the standard on form but with this shorter trip potentially against him, the mare PURSE PRICE is preferred. She’s been running well in defeat in what may turn out to be better races than this and the application of headgear should help her get her head in front.

14:45 – Dovlator

Gordon Elliott has a strong hand with the likes of American Mike and Weseekhimhere, both with potential to get involved. Unanswered was too bad to be true last time and L’yser should come on for his reappearance. The tentative vote goes to DOVLATOR who has some solid novice hurdle form to his name and he might be worth siding with on handicap bow. Spirit Of Legend, Cadatharla, and Gold Speed are others to note in a fiercely competitive heat.

15:20 – Happy Dreams

Plenty of potential improvers including the JP McManus representatives, After The Roar and Jump The Shark, who should both appreciate this new trip. HAPPY DREAMS shades the vote after a good run back over hurdles last time and he’s well treated if he can match the level of some of his chase form from earlier this season.

15:55 – Kemboy

It could be close between the Willie Mullins pair of Carefully Selected and KEMBOY but it is significant that Paul Townend prefers the latter and he can bounce back from a poor showing last time with the ground in his favour. Pencilfulloflead can hunt them up.

16:30 – Salmanino

Having taken his form to a new level since going over fences, SALMANINO (nap), should have more to give and, though this livelier ground poses a question, can get away with it up in trip. Ballykeel and Brideswell Lad can give him most to do.

17:05 – Down Memory Lane

The first place to start with in bumpers is with a Willie Mullins runner and obviously Mister Pink has to be respected as a half-brother to Pink Hat. However, Gordon Elliott’s record in these races is also impressive and his DOWN MEMORY LANE is by a top sire and has already won a point’, so is narrowly preferred. Park Annonciade can improve enough to get involved.
