This looks to be between QAASID and Dinoo. The latter has the form to go close but he may not want a steadily run race over this trip in a small field, so preference is for the former who showed a good attitude when winning over C&D a fortnight ago.
The return to 1m is in favour of Perfect Swiss so he is very much one to consider, while Ron O also has to make the shortlist having won three of his last four starts, two of them over C&D. However, the vote goes to BIN HAYYAN who showed what he is capable of if the gaps appear when successful here a fortnight ago. Now that he has got his head back in front, he is taken to defy the 5lb higher mark.
Wadacre Grace is likely to again give it her best shot, despite finding one or two to beat her in her last seven starts, while last month’s C&D winner Lilikoi is another for the shortlist. However, PIFFLE (nap) is just 2lb higher than when getting the better of two last-time-out winners at Wolverhampton 16 days ago and she is taken to follow up.
Flash Bardot and Shaw Park have finished runner-up in their first two starts, with the latter’s form possibly looking the stronger. Scott Dixon’s 4yo is respected, but he may struggle to confirm latest C&D running with FADE TO GRAY who was making his debut when finishing just a head behind him over C&D nine days ago.
Provided he is ready to go after four months off Dark Side Thunder would be a contender having returned to his last winning mark. Tathmeen is much respected in his bid for a C&D hat-trick, especially if getting enough pace to aim at, but BENEFICARY looks particularly interesting. The gelding didn’t take the bend too well on his stable debut at Chelmsford last time, but he showed consistent form on straight tracks on Tapeta for Karl Burke, so the return to these conditions ought to suit him.
This looks an ideal opportunity for SNUGGLE to break his duck following his narrow defeat by an in-form rival at Lingfield last time. The ex-Godolphin Winter Crown may be capable of better than he showed last year and could be the one to follow him home.
The consistent Nellie French has to make the shortlist after chasing home an in-form rival off this mark five days ago, as does Gowanbuster who ran a subsequent winner close a fortnight ago. Both have winning form over C&D, but the vote goes to KRAKEN POWER who won twice here last month and failed by only a nose to get up at this venue on Monday. Latin Five doesn’t have quite as good a recent profile but is too attractively handicapped to ignore.
