15:15 – Post Chaise
15:50 – Up For Parol

13:15 – Whitehaven
WHITEHAVEN, a fairly useful sort on the Flat who won five times in that sphere for Hughie Morrison, offered something to work with when finishing third at Catterick on his hurdling debut for Donald McCain on New Year’s Day. He was outpaced early in the straight but kept on nicely, leaving the impression he should sharpen up for that experience, while the switch to a more galloping course could help bring about an improved performance. Donald McCain and Brian Hughes have teamed up to win the last two editions of this maiden hurdle and can strike again with Whitehaven.
13:45 – Altobelli
ALTOBELLI made an impressive start to his career when drawing five and a half lengths clear in an Exeter bumper and he maintained his unbeaten record in a maiden hurdle at Ffos Las in December, overcoming a couple of mistakes to prevail by a length and three-quarters. Altobelli’s jumping is likely to be sharper with that outing under his belt and he looks up to defying a penalty.
14:15 – Eyre Square
Irish trainer Gavin Cromwell had a winner in Britain last week with Stumptown at Sandown and he has an interesting representative at Carlisle on Monday with EYRE SQUARE. Eyre Square has offered something to work with since being sent chasing and wasn’t beaten far in fourth at Down Royal last time, despite racing in snatches. The application of cheekpieces might sharpen her up a bit and she looks to have been handed a fair opening mark.
14:45 – Paddys Fancy
PADDYS FANCY showed only modest form on the Flat but was able to make a winning start over hurdles at Leicester in November, seeing things out really well in first-time cheekpieces. Paddy’s Fancy failed to match that form on her next couple of outings, but she got back on track when switched to handicap company at Plumpton last week, finishing runner-up to a rival on a roll. Paddy’s Fancy was well clear of the remainder, however, and holds strong claims off the same mark here.

15:15 – Post Chaise
POST CHAISE was going the right way over hurdles and has continued the good work since going chasing, winning both starts in this sphere. Post Chaise scored with something to spare on his chasing debut at Hereford and he defied an 8 lb higher mark with ease at Huntingdon, leading on the bridle on the home turn before pulling five and a half lengths clear. He has another 9 lb rise in the weights to deal with here but still appeals as being on a fair mark and, improving in leaps and bounds, can complete the hat-trick.
15:50 – Up For Parol
UP FOR PAROL‘s form tailed off towards the end of last season but he ran a cracker to finish third on his return in an attritional edition of the Lanzarote Hurdle at Kempton last month, in which only four of the 20 runners completed. The lack of a previous outing told late on, but Up For Parol went through much of that race like a horse on a decent mark and he is of obvious interest as he drops in grade.
16:25 – Piaff Bubbles
PIAFF BUBBLES justified good support to get off the mark at Wetherby last time, sticking on well to reverse form with an unexposed rival who had finished a place in advance of him when they clashed the previous month. Piaff Bubbles and the runner-up pulled well clear of a horse seeking a four-timer in what appeals as being a strong piece of form for the grade, so a 6 lb rise in the weights should not be enough to stop this unexposed stayer from following up.
