14:30 – Exeter – El Rio (The Sunday Telegraph)
Half-brother to 2m5f/3m hurdle winner Cracker Jak; dam sister to bumper/2m-2m3f hurdle/smart chase winner Let Yourself Go; EL RIO was poor in his two bumpers last term but made all in an Irish maiden point in November; interesting to see market strength on this hurdle debut for new stable which won this race last year with a newcomer at 16-1.
15:40 – Navan – Mahler Mission (On The Nose)
Grade 2 and Listed winner over hurdles; MAHLER MISSION improved from his chase debut when a close-up third behind Must Be Obeyed at Punchestown at the end of December; made a strong impression when winning a C&D beginner’s event last time; progressive staying type, may now turn the tables on Must Be Obeyed.
16:10 – Navan – The Echo Boy (The Irish Field)
Career best to land the Connacht National at Roscommon last June; THE ECHO BOY pulled up in a Leopardstown handicap chase at Christmas on his return; drier ground will suit here but might just be best watched for now.
