Treshnish was in good form in the autumn and can be excused his defeat at Kelso in December, while his stablemate Onesoc was a course hurdle winner off today’s mark last year and also makes appeal. However, the suggestion is HERE WE HAVE IT, who recovered well from a tight spot to win over C&D in December and is not yet fully exposed over fences. Yesterday’s Taunton winner Gabriel’s Getaway will have to be respected if turned out swiftly.

14:40 – Angels Landing

An open handicap. ANGELS LANDING has only won on the Flat but there have been positives over hurdles and getting back on drier ground can only help. The same comment applies to Minelladestination and she’s second choice. Sorceress Medea needs a close look in the market.

15:10 – Regarde

This may not take much winning and a chance is taken on REGARDE tapping back into the promise shown in point-to-points on this first outing since wind surgery. The Dan Skelton-trained Book Of Secrets is feared most on his first start since November 2021, with Guillaume next on the list ahead of Forget The Way and Jumping Jupiter.

15:40 – Chosen Port

Sedge Wren looked very promising in bumpers last season but her winning hurdle debut in October was far from convincing and she will probably need to jump with a lot more fluency to overcome her penalty here. Preference is for CHOSEN PORT, who shaped with significant promise before her last-flight fall at Leicester. Lady Mendoza didn’t fire on soft ground last month but has claims if judged on her Newcastle second.

Today’s faster ground may not be ideal for ROGER RAREBIT but he escapes a penalty for his wide-margin win under 10lb claimer Cameron Iles at Ffos Las last week and is taken to follow up. Dom Bosco has scope.

16:40 – Dev Of Tara

Fakenham last week didn’t go entirely to plan and yet DEV OF TARA (nap) still managed to justify market support with relative ease. With no penalty, he looks the obvious answer. Harry’s Hottie was running well until getting stuck in the mud at Uttoxeter and, with most of the others having much to prove, he’s feared most.
