Polemon was a solid second at Lingfield recently and holds strong claims but preference is for MR INSPIRATION, who showed promise on his debut and is open to improvement for the Gosdens now upped in trip.

Three to focus on. Hannah’s Return is much better than she was able to show at Southwell three weeks ago, while Elegant Ellen (second choice) will be tough to beat if turning up in the same form as last time. FORBEARING (NAP), who was 1-1 in classified company before bumping into a couple of in-form rivals 15 days ago, is favoured with the return of cheekpieces a plus.
18:30 – Got No Dollars
Patience is wearing a bit thin with GOT NO DOLLARS but he should have no excuses from a favourable draw under ideal conditions this evening. Dangers aplenty with Satin Snake, Sisters In The Sky, Sandy Paradise and Ring Of Gold feared in that order.
19:00 – Paco’s Pride
Outrace (made virtually all) and Bernardine (last to first) achieved their last-time-out C&D wins by deploying very different tactics, and both are respected with James Fanshawe’s filly just favoured. It’s hoped PACO’S PRIDE will get it together, though, and she really ought to make a splash in this 0-65 handicap given her breeding.
19:30 – Lightship
The handicapper will catch up with Rooful at some stage and a 12lb rise may leave her vulnerable to Golden Mayflower, who ran so well at Lingfield last time. It could be worth chancing LIGHTSHIP, for the in-form Kevin Philippart De Foy team, though. She ran better than it looked on last month’s stable debut and her opening mark looks workable.

20:00 – Earl of Tyrone
Many angles into this, some will side with 2020 and 2021 winner Rainbow Dreamer or 2022 victor Sleeping Lion. The two classiest performers can fight this out with Berkshire Rocco, beaten a neck in the 2020 St Leger and back to winning ways at Southwell last time, not dismissed lightly. EARL OF TYRONE can make a winning start for William Haggas, having changed hands for 300,000gns in October. His third in the Ebor three runs ago was a fine effort.
20:30 – Big Jimbo
Cherwell is the potential fly in the ointment and a positive market move would be ominous for the rest. As it stands, BIG JIMBO is taken to further make up for lost time and supplement last week’s course win. Stranger Things is the most solid alternative.
