My Ticketyboo displayed significant improvement to win over C&D in first-time cheekpieces eight days ago and may well have more to offer but preference is for GAVROCHE D’ALLIER, who was third in a big field over 2m3f on last month’s handicap debut and ought to be suited by today’s longer distance. Balinesker Beach was also third on his handicap debut and is another to consider.
15:45 Carlisle – Leading Force (The Times)
The shortlist is headed by the interesting handicap debutants LEADING FORCE and Quick Sharpener, who both look open to further progress. The selection ran creditably behind a well-regarded sort last time, while the second choice is unexposed at this sort of trip. Lively Citizen (third choice) is interesting off a handy mark dropped in grade.
16:30 Fontwell – Monjules (Racing Post)
A few of these warrant consideration but it might pay to give another chance to MONJULES, who needs to bounce back from a substandard performance last month but beat Sambezi with a degree of authority on his stable debut in December and remains open to significant further progress for his new trainer. Preference is for MOONLIT PARK, who has decidedly strong paper credentials and looks the clear pick of the newcomers. She’ll be all the more interesting if the market speaks favourably. Last-time-out winners Bullets Hill (second choice) and Judicial Review warrant respect, while Old Gregorian should improve on his debut effort. Bertie’s Ballet, though absent since last March, is also hard to dismiss.
