ITV Sunday gets under way here with the Listed Triumph Hurdle over nearly 2m. Afadil and Bringbackmemories could be different class, but FILS DE ROI has loads of experience and can put that to good use for Paddy Brennan and Fergal O’Brien. With a rating of 123 my hope has proven form to a high level and looked pretty good at Huntingdon not so long ago. Once fell in a chase and has also done so over hurdles so just needs to concentrate.
ITV are also at Leopardstown for top class racing starting with this Grade 1 novice chase over 2m5f. Decent talent here. Kilcruit is a big price, but MIGHTY POTTER has to be the one to beat with a mark of 160. Davy Russell rides for Gordon Elliott and, while pulled up in the Supreme at Cheltenham, the six-year-old travelled strongly when landing the Grade 1 Drinmore at Fairyhouse over a slightly shorter trip.
A handicap chase over 2m. Competitive stuff. PAY THE PIPER has not quite been at his best this season and as such his mark has slipped a little bit. However, he’s performed well enough to suggest a big eachway chance here for Danny McMenamin and Ann Hamilton. Not disgraced at Wetherby last time and this sharp track will suit.

The Grade 1 Dublin Chase over 2m1f. BLUE LORD will be no price but is impossible to oppose after his win when last seen in a Grade 1 at Leopardstown. He had Chacun Pour Soi behind that day and to be quite honest this looks a lesser event. Should be easy for Paul Townend and Willie Mullins.
A novice hurdle over nearly 2m. This looks a good opportunity for TOOTHLESS to score again for champion trainer Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden. The Fakenham winner was impressive when last seen and I can’t see how this looks much tougher.
Handicap Chase time over 2m5f. A tough race to call. VANILLIER has something to prove for Gavin Cromwell and Keith Donoghue, but I suspect he has the ability to feature if anywhere near at his best. The National Hunt Chase third stays well but has been out of his depth in top Graded races of late. I’ll risk a few quid each-way at long odds.
Up in trip here for a 3m handicap hurdle. ABUFFALOSOLDIER has performed well up in trip on his last two starts for Warren Greatex and should give James Bowen a great spin. He did really well to score at Newbury two runs ago and was a fine third at Cheltenham last time when staying on well.
The feature Grade 1 Champion Hurdle over 2m. Honeysuckle has never had a high rating but she runs this track well so should be bang there. Vauban is a danger to all, but it has to be STATE MAN for Willie Mullins and Paul Townend as the selection. The rising star was impressive in the Matheson Hurdle at this track last time and is clearly getting better and better.
A Grade 1 novice hurdle over 2m. Great to see the old giraffe High Definition in action, but FACILE VEGA will be all the rage for Paul Townend and Willie Mullins once again. The Cheltenham bumper hero has looked unstoppable so far over hurdles even though his last effort was not his most impressive.
