13:40 – SECRET TRIX
There are some unexposed ones lurking but, with Daire Davis very good value for his 8lb claim against other conditional riders, SECRET TRIX is selected to collect another C&D win. Shesupincourt has been knocking loudly on the door in recent months and ought to play a significant role, while today’s switch back to good ground may prompt a better showing from Ailes D’Amour.
NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?
14:10 – LINE OF DESCENT
Dondiam remains unexposed and will be feared if again strong in the betting but the suggestion is LINE OF DESCENT, who was second to progressive rivals in his first two chases and gets another chance off the same mark today. Mexican Boy and Ben Buie should also feature.
14:40 – DOIREANN
Another chance is given to DOIREANN, who clearly wasn’t herself on her latest outing and will be hard to beat if the first-time cheekpieces enable her to replicate the form of her clear second over C&D in November. Brandisova comes here after running well in defeat on consecutive appearances but confidence in her would be much higher on slower ground and a bigger threat may emerge from Chic Avenue, who moves up in trip for today’s handicap debut.
15:15 – SERGEANT WILSON
There is risk attached to all of these but SERGEANT WILSON posted two very promising efforts over hurdles in the autumn and gets the nod in the hope that the addition of a hood helps him to settle much better than he did last time. Jaramillo also needs to put a disappointing run behind him but he will be dangerous if he does so. Cheltenham Festival entry Pistoletto switches to hurdling with high mileage from his Flat career but it will be interesting to see how he fares.
15:50 – BOLSOVER BIL
Triple chase winner BOLSOVER BILL (nap) bumped into a resurgent rival when second at Catterick last week but is evidently still in very good form and can add to his tally here. Getabuck posted a couple of good efforts in blinkers in December and is feared most. Camulus looks quite interesting on today’s chasing debut.

16:25 – BASHERS REFLECTION
He needs to prove he’s fully effective on today’s forecast quicker ground but BASHERS REFLECTION travelled strongly for most of the way and was one of two to pull nicely clear of the others when winning on his handicap debut in December. He gets the vote ahead of Pachacuti, who ran well in defeat on his latest outing and remains lightly raced. Handicap debutant Uncle Arthur is also of significant interest.
