17:30 – GRANGECLARE VIEW
Kept to this grade GRANGECLARE VIEW could well build on his latest effort and record a first success since joining his new stable. Nasim, a similar type who is also seeking a first win for his current connections, is feared most now dropped to this level. Cap D’antibes may stage a revival following wind surgery and Satellite Call may improve for the headgear.
NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?
18:00 – EL ROYALE
The shortlist is headed by the unexposed contenders EL ROYALE and Bluebells Boy in that order of preference. They showed improved form here in December and look likely to progress further. Recent winners Lilikoi and Bond Boy are obvious threats.
18:30 – FURNICOE
Topweight FURNICOE holds very solid claims on recent form and is taken to open her account. Mintana, the only previous winner in the field, is second choice ahead of Por Ti Volare who ties in with that rival and the selection. Ok Pal has possibilities if proving suited by the headgear and new trip.
19:00 – HARB
Having fared best of the rest behind a notable rival here three weeks ago, HARB (nap) could well go one better off the same mark. Mick’s Spirit, who has never won away from Lingfield but is ahead of the assessor, gets the percentage call for second choice. Dusky Prince should go well again and Blind Beggar is still of interest.
19:30 – SAVANNAH SMILES
Armed with a 7lb pull and the possibility of a smoother trip, SAVANNAH SMILES could well reverse Southwell placings with Shine Honey Shine who remains unexposed and still warrants respect all the same. Scramble is a major player on her form over longer trips, while Little Helen and Nuthatch also have possibilities.
20:00 – ROSA DEL RIO
On the back of a solid effort at Newcastle, improving filly ROSA DEL RIO holds strong claims off the same mark. Storm Catcher, who is bidding for a C&D hat-trick, and Deep Sigh may prove the biggest dangers in that order.
20:30 – ARPINA
This looks decidedly trappy. Well Prepared (second choice) is the obvious starting point after his recent win but he has to concede weight all round and he has never been one to trust implicitly. Mick Appleby may find the key to All Aboard at some point, while you don’t have to go too far back to find form that brings Letter Of The Law and Miss Sligo right into the reckoning. ARPINA is a longstanding maiden but she’s reliable enough and may be able to reverse latest Lingfield placings with Well Prepared today.
