12:50 – Capparis
CAPPARIS has shown improved form of late, quickly resuming winning ways when returned to a mile and a quarter at Chelmsford last week, and given how much she found in the finish she may well progress again for this longer trip. She was cosily on top at the line on that occasion and a subsequent 3 lb rise may not be enough to prevent her following up. Glittering Choice is back down to her winning mark and can provide the main threat for Hugo Palmer who has started the year in fine form.

MAY NIGHT isn’t long with Stuart Williams and he has run up to his best to finish second on his last two starts, narrowly beaten over a mile at Southwell on his return from eight weeks off earlier this month and beaten only by one going through a good spell over this trip at Kempton last week. He has a wide draw here, but he will likely be dropped in and he is clearly on a mark from which he will remain competitive. Chola Empire is another who figures on a good mark and still isn’t fully exposed, while Perfect Swiss is building up a good record on tapeta.
FANCY A CHANCE TO WIN £/€25K FOR FREE?
14:00 – King’s Gem
KING’S GEM was very well backed on his debut for George Boughey over six furlongs at this course on Wednesday and, though he was unable to land the money, he did shape well enough to make him of interest again. He wasn’t best positioned as the race went and paid the price for making a big move into contention in the latter stages. He is entitled to strip fitter for that effort now, and should also be well suited by a step up in trip. Princess Naomi and Iato’s Angel could be the pair to give the selection most to think about.
14:35 – Justcallmepete
It is very hard to get away from the claims of JUSTCALLMEPETE, who arrives on a roll having won his last three starts, and is very much weighted to complete a four-timer turned out under a 5 lb penalty for last week’s course and distance success. The application of blinkers appear to have been the making of him, looking better than ever as he streaked one and three quarter lengths clear of Intervention under hands-and-heels six days ago, and he will be hard to contain if turning up in the same form. Intervention may be the one to chase him home again.
15:15 – Winter Melody
WINTER MELODY makes appeal on paper for a yard who are adept at readying a newcomer and she could be the way to go given those with previous form that is on offer hardly setting a tall standard. Just A Spark showed promise on her debut at Wolverhampton 12 days ago and can also figure, whilst another newcomer, Mma Ramotswe, also demands a market check.
15:45 – Danah Star
A number of these arrive with question marks against them so this looks a good opportunity for DANAH STAR to get off the mark given she arrives in good form and is favoured by these weights. Five-time course winner Gorgeous General is feared most ahead of in-form maiden Paddy K and the handily-weighted Company Minx.
