ITV will show four races from Lingfield Saturday starting with this handicap over 1m2f. SWEET FANTASY is probably high enough in the handicap at the moment off a mark of 80, but I tipped her last time when she finished a fair fourth and I’ll risk her each-way again here.

Rossa Ryan rides for Ralph Beckett and from a middle to high draw will probably just slot in behind the leaders. My hope is she stays fairly strongly, so I anticipate her finishing off well.

In this handicap over 7f SHOOT TO KILL is interesting here at a price from a low draw. The selection only just does enough, and went up in the handicap after a few wins last year.

However, he is now down to a mark of 82, and a run at Lingfield two races ago suggested that it’s not impossible he can bounce back to form. Tom Marquand rides for Robyn Brisland and I think he’s got each-way claims.

14:47 Lingfield – Purple Ribbon

Now the feature Lingfield Winter Oaks Fillies’ Handicap. Al Agaila absolutely hacked up when I was at Lingfield last time for Sky, and she may well cope with a stiff rise in the weights. However, the horse I like each-way here is PURPLE RIBBON.

Although she has plenty of weight to carry, her run in Listed company recently suggested she is improving all the time and she’s only lightly raced. She stays further than this and must have outstanding each-way claims for Jack Mitchell and Charlie Fellowes.

SILKY WILKIE is right in the grip of the handicapper but there are reasons to oppose many of his rivals and he might be good enough to scrape home. Jockey Sam Feilden takes off 7lb again for Karl Burke and stall five looks perfectly set up for him.
