ALGHEED represents a yard that are in top form at present and she is also thriving herself, winning her last two starts at Lingfield and over seven furlongs at this course. She is equally effective at this shorter trip as well, though, and the manner in which she travelled last time suggests she has more to offer, while she also now has a promising claimer taking 7 lb off. Big chance. Cariad Angel, a good winner over five furlongs last time is feared most, ahead of Inevitable Outcome, who figures on a good mark.

SERENITY ROSE has been unlucky to bump into two well-handicapped sorts on her last two starts, but she has done nothing wrong, enhancing her reputation in defeat if anything, and she appears to have been well placed here. This looks a very winnable race back in maiden company and she should relish the step up in trip. It will be disappointing if she doesn’t open her account now. Scramble, who finished third at Southwell on Sunday, may be the one to follow her home unless the betting vibes are strong surrounding newcomers Flash Bardot and Princess Angela.

Cases can be made for most of these but the most compelling is for KARDINYA, who belatedly got off the mark at this track on his penultimate start and can prove that his below-par effort at Lingfield last week was just a blip. He ran too bad to be true on that occasion, trailing home last of all, so he is well worth another chance to bounce back turned out quickly for a yard in good form. This step up in trip could be just what Pysanka requires so he’s put forward as the main danger on handicap debut, with Bearing Bob rounding off the shortlist.
15:05 – Arcadian Nights
ARCADIAN NIGHTS had fallen below his last winning mark and confirmed the promise of his previous run when proving one and three quarter lengths too strong for the reopposing Toophan over course and distance on Monday. His excellent claimer showcased his talents once again and he looks the one to beat turned out under a 5 lb penalty given he remains unexposed at this trip. War In Heaven was also successful at this course and distance last time and heads the list of danger.
15:40 – Moveonup
Billy Loughnan has a good book of rides on the card and his valuable 7 lb claim should help the chances of MOVEONUP, who resumed winning ways over six furlongs at Chelmsford last week. He blitzed his rivals from the front that day and found enough in front to suggest this longer trip will be within his compass. This doesn’t look a strong race and he is the most solid option. Elegant Ellen, Hachert and Won Love rate the principal dangers.

Veteran BOOM THE GROOM ran a cracker when runner-up over course and distance earlier in the week, showing there is still plenty of life left in him, and he is entitled to go one place better if turning up in similar form breaking from a good draw in stall 4. Apache Star went through the race as if on a workable mark at Southwell 9 days ago and must enter the reckoning, along with Mintana and Glorious Charmer.
