After a couple of good placed efforts this winter, Brett Johnson’s DEMBE might be ready to strike again. Aguaplano arrives on the back of some solid runs over C&D and is feared most, ahead of Golden Sands who took a step back in the right direction when runner-up last time.

Confidence in Central Hall took a knock at Newcastle and although fitting a tongue-tie could make all the difference it looks worth chancing KINGDOM COME back from an absence. He was close up behind some useful rivals at Doncaster when last seen as a 2yo and has potential for much better. Rumnotred and Endued are two rivals who should progress.

Tinker Toy was done for toe on his first crack at sprinting last time and tonight’s 6f in a small field doesn’t look optimal, while Kiwano has a good bit to find stepping out of handicap company, and Tone The Barone has always been best over 5f. That looks to leave the way clear for ANNAF to follow up last weekend’s Lingfield win.

Plenty to consider in an open handicap, headed by DINOO, who’s well up to winning off this mark if tonight’s stiffest stamina test ekes out a bit more from him. Eloso is second choice, with his yard banging in the winners this month, and Legendary Day also has claims.

On the face of it PRINCESS NIEVE (nap) has a bit on her plate under the penalty, as she’s 5lb worse off for a neck with Faithless Insomnia from Lingfield last weekend. She’d be open to the greater improvement of the pair, though, especially going up in distance again, and can come out on top once more. Chelsea Annie offered more on her first crack at this trip, for a yard that’s been going well, when behind Cendrillon in a race not run to suit over C&D a fortnight ago and is another to consider.
