An interesting opener here at Punchestown with not a huge amount to go off form wise but JACOVEC CAVERN looks very interesting. Connections already have a few smart horses including the Willie Mullins trained Billaway, Recite A Prayer rated 144 & Heaven Help Us rated 148 and a horse who bolted up in the Coral Cup in 2021. Formerly trained by Mick Channon and shown plenty of promise on the flat looks very interesting here.
13:20 Punchestown

Wager: 1.5 points each-way
CALL ME ROCKY has run well over hurdles previously and although he definitely hasn’t won as many races as connections would of liked so far there is still plenty to like about him here. Hurdles mark is dropping now from 114 to 104 so looks very nicely handicapped. Stays well and the ground shouldn’t be a problem either. Open to plenty of improvement and Denis Hogan has Littlemixup here as well who’s on a hat trick but may just be a bit vulnerable at the weights. Good solid EW play.
15:10 Hereford
TipMan Selection – Alberic
Wager: 1.5 points each-way
A very poor looking class 5 here leaves some nice opportunities for the likes of ALBERIC who had been super consistent last season and may have needed some runs the last twice when pulled up, so he’s worth taking a chance on here if sparking a revival. Distance and ground fine as he ran a good sequence this time last year over similar conditions. Had a wind op before those last two starts when pulled up and should be ready to go now today.
16:10 Hereford
TipMan Selection – Zestful Hope
Wager: 1.5 points each-way
ZESTFUL HOPE for Charlie Longsdon looks a serious player here who has to be respected. Two time course winner from his two starts here, so clearly likes it here. Handles the soft ground and is 1/2 over todays trip. Lilly Pinchen booked for the ride today and her 3lb claim could be very useful. Yards in great form at the moment and this one is very difficult to discount.
