Blood Destiny was impressive at Cork. He jumped well and stayed well. He’ll be hard to beat but I imagine he’ll be priced that way!

14:12 – Cayd Boy/Epson Du Houx
It is Mt Leinster’s type of race and he definitely has a chance but my one concern would be really heavy ground. It’s not really in his pedigree and he doesn’t have much form in those conditions. He was third to Take All at Wexford in October – not quite January at Fairyhouse. He was also beaten a long way by Jason The Militant on heavy ground at Naas in February 2020. I’ll be giving him a swerve for that reason.
I think the handicapper may have caught up with Fan De Blues. He’s up to 149 after beating Turbo off 141 at Cork but that 8lbs just seems to have him.
The ones that interest me are prominent in the market. Cayd Boy is an eight-year-old who has won on testing ground in the past. He’d have to have a chance and ran well behind Sil Ver Klass at Fairyhouse.
Epson Du Houx was in the contest that Energumene won at Cork but he wasn’t really in the race – but you wouldn’t expect him to be. He showed that he handles really testing ground and could be interesting.
14:47 – Flame Bearer
Flame Bearer should win purely because of the opposition. Highland Charge is the most notable and might have improved for a disappointing run behind El Fabiolo at Fairyhouse. That said, Flame Bearer got beaten a long way by Journey With Me and has to improve a lot.
