Bawaader produced a good performance to score by a wide margin at Kempton last week but preference is for the other last-time-out winner, SIRIUS WHITE, who could have untapped potential over this new trip. Twistaline is next on the list.

Roger Varian’s SILKY SMOOTH (NAP) won nicely enough on his handicap debut last month and ought to be hard to beat with further improvement very much on the cards. The well-bred Charlie Johnston handicap newcomer Carouselle may give him most to do.
18:30 – Brains
Although BRAINS was raised 8lb for last month’s Kempton defeat of Mawkeb, he retains handicapping scope on his best efforts and Mick Appleby’s charge boosted the form when winning next time. Brains can prove too strong for his old rival again.
19:00 – Samba Lady
It’s impossible to rule any of these out but the one with the most potential could be SAMBA LADY who is bred to be fast and drops back to 5f for her handicap debut. Soaring Eagle may not be fully exposed either and could pose the main threat, with Bedazzling solid and likely to be thereabouts too.
19:30 – Midnightattheoasis
Market support for one of the newcomers would be significant, with Yesterday’s Hero, Dance Angel and Passion Tango all having plausible profiles. Dalby Forest (second choice) and Desert Fighter have lots of experience and should be involved but a tentative vote goes to MIDNIGHTATTHEOASIS who got the hang of things late on on his debut and could improve markedly.

The horse SPECIAL FORCES pipped at Wolverhampton back in August has done well in handicaps since and James Tate’s charge is taken to make it 2-2 on his return to action. Casa Luna showed promise on her debut and may provide a bigger threat than the more established pair Lady Loulou and Regal Rambler, both of whom sport first-time cheekpieces.
20:30 – Persian Wolf
This is wide open but PERSIAN WOLF should go well. He won on his latest visit here and a slow start cost him last week at Lingfield when just behind Star Of St Louis. Laurentia likes it here and is feared most now she’s back up in trip.
