Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
This is wide open. A chance is taken on PEARLY ISLAND, who is temptingly treated on his high points from last season and whose latest run here offered some encouragement. Sermando (second choice), Maid On The Moon and Monjules are shortlisted, while No No Tango, Clapton Hill, Hector Jaguen, Dom Bosco and Gavroche D’Allier are all possible improvers on their handicap debuts.
With none of these entirely convincing it’s worth chancing that MORNINGSIDE can rediscover some form after wind surgery. He’s threatened here before and is well handicapped. It’s difficult knowing what to expect from Sir Apollo, so Morozov Coctail is next best.
Off a reduced mark upped in distance, LATER DARLING may be capable of opening his account. He has been placed in both AW runs and the latest effort suggested this new trip will suit. Starfighter (second choice) and Atalanta Breeze are obvious dangers, while Genesius has possibilities with a hood applied.
Manintheshadows has very obvious claims off his current mark if able to transfer his best hurdling form to fences but he didn’t jump well in his only previous chase and preference is for ALRIGHT CHIEF, who displayed a liking for this C&D last winter and can hopefully build upon his reappearance run in November. Smoking Pigeon moves up in trip after an encouraging chasing debut here on Boxing Day, while Jigginstown King is another to consider.
