Tipman Tips use a points system to track profit and loss. To calculate your point value, simply divide your monthly budget into 100 points, it can be done with any budget and any value, for example:
* £50 Monthly Budget – 50p Point Value * £100 Monthly Budget – £1 Point Value * £200 Monthly Budget – £2 Point Value
So, in practice:
12:50 – Royal Ascot Red Rum 5/1 – 1.5 points each-way (3pts total)
If you had a budget of £200 you would place £3 each-way on the example selection above (£6 total)
Drakeholes is having just his second start for his new stable after winning on debut over today’s course and distance after a 197 day break. He’s fully entitled to come on for that effort and it was a race in which he won really impressively beating a short-priced favourite by six lengths and won going away. The yard haven’t had many runners recently but they’ve been among the winners and Paul Mullrenana retains the ride after winning so cosily last time out. He’s the least exposed horse in the field and he drops in grade – he has to warrant serious respect.
Last years winner Jessiemac looks well handicapped to give this contest another big effort. She’s now 3lbs below her winning mark from last year and conditions are going to be testing due to the rainfall. However, she has form on heavy ground when winning at Ayr and finishing second twice at the same track, again on heavy ground.
There are question marks surrounding a lot of the field in regard to the conditions and this is one we know gets this trip and should handle the conditions well. She’s definitely not getting any younger but she drops in grade now having been running with credit in Class 3 and 4 races. If able to get back to her form from early last year she has a great chance of place money at the very least.
A tight little field this but it’s very hard to ignore King Of The South’s form at Newcastle. He’s raced here seven times, winning five of those and placing on another occasion, only finishing outside the frame once. He has four wins from seven in today’s grade which included a Class 2 win two starts ago at this venue over slightly further. He won nicely that day and still hit the line hard so he looks a big player again.
Copshill Lad is a lightly-raced five-year-old and he’s quite a distance clear on my personal ratings and hopefully that’ll show true today. He’s raced twice under rules, winning on debut and showing plenty of promise last time out when third. He’s open to lots of improvement and the Harry Cobden booking is very significant. Milton Harris has booked Cobden at Catterick six times in the last few years and he’s won on five of those six. It’s quite a coup to have Paull Nicholls’ stable jockey on board and that tells you exactly what connections think of his chances.
