Billy Mill and Satin Snake (second choice) are both solid contenders but MAY NIGHT ran a fine race over 1m at Chelmsford last week and the return to this C&D can see him go one better.
The lightly raced SIMPLY SIN won in good style over C&D three weeks ago when back from a break and can defy an 8lb rise. Mr Zee likes Kempton and is feared most now back here, having failed to handle left-handed Lingfield last time. Fast Forward may be able to return to form following a break.
Fullforward, the only winner in the field, is unexposed in blinkers and can go well on his stable debut but the pair to appeal most are Foinix and STINTINO SUNSET. Marginal preference is for Julia Feilden’s filly who has untapped potential over this longer trip.
Miss Moonshine (second choice) came from a poor position to take second at Lingfield last week and she remains capable of better. Bode, Profitable Dawn and Shot also have more to come but ARBAAWI may be able to follow up last month’s Southwell success. A 5lb rise doesn’t look a gift on the face of it but the money that came for him there suggested he was thought to be well ahead of his mark, and he still looked badly in need of the experience. There could be another chunk of improvement in the offing.
Shirocco filly BRORA BREEZE is open to improvement now up in trip and showed promise when a staying-on fourth over 1m at Lingfield on her second start. She earns the vote ahead of the Nathaniel newcomer Understated, although Miss Dolly Rocker will be a danger if staying this longer distance.

Rattling is on the up this winter and looks set for another big run but she may well find the progressive 3yo ELEGANT CHARM (nap) too strong. Charlie Appleby’s filly has a C&D win to her name and the form of her latest Southwell second has been well advertised since.
The mare BLAZEON FIVE has thrived since being upped to staying trips and she can land the four-timer. First Charge likes it here and is second choice, while Aced It also has a good record here and is a player provided stamina isn’t an issue now up in trip. Smart Champion and Hydroplane return from breaks and can be contenders if fully tuned up.
