17:30 – Gunnerside
Hit Mac looks good for another stout effort if reproducing his AW form elsewhere back to this track while Mehmo is interesting back at 5f but GUNNERSIDE looks worth chancing off his lowly mark after showing belated signs of life at Wolverhampton in November. Ramdon Rocks and Q Twenty Boy are others with good runs in them.
NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?
18:00 – Bond Spirit
C&D winner Miss Sligo (second choice) seems sure to run a big race, while Raffles Rebel and King Athelstan, second and third in a similar race at Wolverhampton last time, are also strong contenders as is the consistent Sicario. However, the vote goes to BOND SPIRIT who ran his best race when third at Kempton last month and remains open to a bit more progress, which can’t be said of many of these. Visitant is another to consider in an open race.
18:30 – Miss Britain
If allowed her own way in front Finery could prove difficult to overhaul, while Wadacre Grace seems sure to run well in her bid to end a run of recent runner-up finishes. However, MISS BRITAIN, who finished ahead of Charlie Johnston’s filly here last month, is taken to confirm the placings. She remains unexposed at the trip and may again have the race run to suit.
19:00 – Intervention
His second at Wolverhampton last time suggests Spirit Of Nguru is about ready to strike and he is much respected. However, it may be worth siding with INTERVENTION who is usually seen over shorter these days and has been running well lately, but he has won twice at 7f including here. Master Zoffany and Tothenines are others to consider, while Titan Rock is worth a market check on his return.
19:30 – Tropez Power
Zealot had a fine spell in a busy second half of December but he was only just ahead of the pack under a double penalty over C&D after Christmas and is a further 4lb higher today. TROPEZ POWER has some potential himself, his only defeat at about this trip on the AW coming in a higher grade, and he won a shade cosily for his new yard here last month. Dingle starts out for a good new yard off a favourable mark and is also one to be interested in.

20:00 – Gentle Fire (NAP)
A few of these come into the race in good order and Zuckerberg, Bird For Life and Smart Boyo all have claims. Tiger Spirit (second choice) still has potential as a stayer but so does GENTLE FIRE (NAP), who looked some way in front of the handicapper when winning over 1m6f at Wolverhampton last week. She should have no issue with stepping up to 2m and can make light of her 4lb penalty.
20:30 – Ireland’s Eye
Bomb Squad may confirm recent Wolverhampton placings with Astrophysics, Peachey Carnehan and Apache Star and he is high on the list. Starter For Ten (second choice) is another with solid claims, while Red Alert shaped well last week and the returning hood could help Ischia bounce back to form. IRELAND’S EYE ran on well to win a classified event here 12 days ago though and he could have more to come on the AW.
