12:30 – Yagan

The Sir Mark Prescott-trained YAGAN has run well over C&D on both visits to Southwell and is taken to add to his win here last August. Bugle Major has been expensive to follow but arrives in good form and is feared most. Market moves for Omega or Ehteyat would be interesting.

13:00 – Daafy

Having finally got off the mark over C&D last month Taravara could again go well off just 1lb higher, while Flash The Dash could be a player on his second start for the yard if seeing out the trip. However, the vote goes to DAAFY (nap) who likes it here and looked a bit unlucky when just beaten by an in-form rival over C&D ten days ago. Chief’s Will is another for the shortlist, as is Cloch Nua now back in trip.

13:30 – Tenjin

Having been progressive since being gelded, TENJIN can return to winning ways now back in a handicap. Colnago was disappointing on last month’s handicap debut here but was perhaps unsuited by the first-time cheekpieces and could be the main danger. Celtic Champion and Harry Brown return from breaks and may also run well.

14:00 – Earlofthecotswolds

It seems very likely that Rainbow Dreamer will run his race and he comes into this in good heart, while the formerly smart Berkshire Rocco would be a contender if building on his latest Kempton effort. However, EARLOFTHECOTSWOLDS carried all before him in the staying division on the AW early last year, including on Tapeta, and he can pick up where he left off with his four-month absence unlikely to be an issue.

14:30 – Berkshire Phantom

The Andrew Balding-trained BERKSHIRE PHANTOM returns from a break having been gelded and holds leading claims if able to reproduce his best form from last summer. Burning The Bails was a promising third over C&D on last month’s debut but perhaps a bigger threat will come from Royal Razzmatazz, who was sixth in that same race after losing lots of ground at the start. Odin Owns You All and United Force are interesting newcomers.

15:00 – Serenity Rose

Both Dark Trooper and Bay Of Hope should appreciate the extra furlong on pedigree, while States Of Thunder wouldn’t need to find much on previous efforts in order to figure. However, SERENITY ROSE showed that a race like this is within her grasp when going down narrowly on nursery debut over this trip at Wolverhampton last month and a repeat of that effort may well be enough.

15:30 – Trusty Rusty

A competitive little race and it should be run at a good gallop thanks to Jeans Maite and Pepper Streak, who can both make bold bids. Preference is for TRUSTY RUSTY, who was having her first run at Southwell when winning over C&D ten days ago. Fellow last-time-out winner Angle Land is feared most ahead of Miss Belladonna.
